Details:
The JP Enterprises Original Trigger Kit is a kit for small pin AR receivers that includes a JP Trigger, hammer and trigger springs, engagement and overtravel screws, and disconnector spring. The kit also includes an instructional video to help you correctly assemble the kit for your application and a standard selection of springs, which consists of a yellow reduced power trigger spring and yellow and red reduced power hammer springs. Depending on your desired trigger setup, you will use different springs to complete the assembly of your JP Enterprises Trigger assembly. Some of these springs must be purchased separately from the JP Trigger Kit.
Users who desire a recreational or competition type setup that results in a trigger pull of the 3 to 3.5-pound pull weight range will assemble the JP Trigger with a yellow trigger spring and a yellow hammer spring combination that works well with most hand loads and non-military ordinance.
If you want extra ignition reliability, the red hammer spring and yellow trigger spring combination give you a release weight of 3.5 to 4.0 pounds and creates more reliable ignition conditions for low–sensitivity primers that may be encountered in foreign-manufactured ammunition. The Red/Yellow spring combination is necessary for any large framed AR application in order to deliver ignition reliability at a 100% rate. This weight rating is also considered the minimum rating for any tactical duty application. It must be noted that this setup is only acceptable for tactical duty with US domestic manufactured ammunition.
If you want to use the JP Enterprises Trigger for a Duty or Defense type build, you will need to assemble it with a full-power hammer spring which is color coded in gray. This spring is only available as a stand-alone purchase. Complete assembly for many agencies requires a release weight in excess of 4.0 pounds. For AR-15 and AR-10 platforms, this version of the JP Trigger assembly offers 100% ignition reliability.
If you choose to set up to meet the NRA Service Rifle guidelines for competition you will have to acquire the CMP spring set, which includes a full-power hammer spring and a trigger return spring that allows for trigger adjustment to an excess of 4.5 pounds so that you may qualify at minimum NRA release weight.
Whatever your application, simply choose the correct spring combination, and the JP Enterprises Trigger will give you a quality shooting experience with reliability and flexibility that competitors don't easily match.
