The Magpul M-LOK rail covers are designed to protect the edges of your M-LOK mounting slots when they are not in use. The M-LOK system was designed by Magpul Industries as an upgraded option to an existing mounting system. The M-LOK concept has since become a free-license platform and allows for greater compatibility between various firearm manufacturers.

The M-LOK system is similar to the KeyMod system in that it permits the addition of more rail sections if needed. Unlike the KeyMod system, however, M-LOK uses straight slots instead of the keyhole shapes used in KeyMod. The M-LOK system is known to be gentler on polymer accessories than KeyMod. While the use of a conical nut in the KeyMod system can lead to weakening and deformation of the accessory, the cammed shank used in the M-LOK system ensures a safe and easy installation and removal of your accessory.
